Referral Process : Canadian Patients
A referral from a physician is needed to become a patient in this clinic.
Any patient that has a valid Canadian provincial or territorial health card or Canadian federal health insurance can be referred to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMH). Referrals will be assessed and if approved, one of our program administrative assistants will contact you with an appointment.

Referral Process: International Patients
A patient is considered an international patient if he or she:
- Is not a resident of Canada
- Is a Canadian citizen living abroad
- Lives in Canada but does not have landed immigrant status
- Does not have Ontario or other Canadian provincial or federal health insurance
International patients are required to meet eligibility criteria, complete an application package and follow a standard process to be considered to receive care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PMH).
The International Patient Program (IPP) office manages all international referrals and supports international patients, families or their representatives through the program application, acceptance process and provision of care. All applications are screened by our medical director and medical professional s to determine if care can be provided at the PMH.
Please note that PMH is part of the University Health Network (UHN) , which also includes Toronto General Hospital , Toronto Western Hospital, West Park Healthcare Centre and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute .
